We have been honoured to deliver the Childminder Mentor programme and the Expert and Mentorprogramme on behalf of the Department for Education (DfE).The programme was designed to support the impact of COVID-19 on children’s learning and development by equipping early years professionals with advanced skills and knowledge needed to deliver excellent early years provision. However, as the DfE training and delivery partner for the Childminder programme and training partner for he Expert and Mentor programme, the programmes have provided so much more.We have been able to support the development of Area Leads, Experts and Mentors and we’ve been privileged to work with wider early years’ settings providers to help and support our youngest and most disadvantaged children.
Working with and hearing from early years providers has enabled us to gain greater insight and understanding of the challenges the sector faces and the importance of their role in providing those vital early learning foundations for children.
We’d like to thank all those involved in the programme; the providers of support who worked flexibly to meet the needs of early years practitioners; Local Authorities and other early years professionals who have supported the programme; and most importantly the practitioners for engaging with the programme and sharing such positive feedback with us, including the impact of the programme on individuals who have gained confidence and feel empowered to progress further in the future. You have all made a real difference to the children and families you serve.
