Experience over many years has highlighted the need for safer recruitment processes to be embedded as standard practice for all organisations working with children and young people. This aims to deter unsuitable people from working in the sector.
At Coram Hempsall’s we believe every child deserves a safe space to learn and thrive. That begins with safer recruitment - recruitment beyond the DBS that develops and embeds a culture of vigilance and safeguarding where daily practice holds people to account and is inquisitive.
We have developed a three hour training session that explores just that, that works for you, that keeps children and young people and adults safe. The training uses a five-stage model Deter, Reject, Prevent, Prevent and Detect, exploring key actions at each stage. Offering practical advice to ensure only safe and suitable people are employed, creating a culture where children can learn, play and thrive.
